KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today urged all quarters to not speculate on the list of BN candidates for the 14th general election (GE14).
He said the selection was made by BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and no one should be disappointed when the list was announced.
“We have our strategy on the selection of candidates and we urge all quarters to embrace the principles of walla’, wasatiyyah dan tabayyun.
“No matter who the candidates, what is important is for us to unite in ensuring victory for BN,” he told reporters after the handing over of house keys to 427 recipients of the Residensi Razakmas Federal Territory Affordable Housing Project (RUMAWIP) here today.
He was asked on a speculation that Wanita UMNO leader Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil would be nominated as BN candidate for the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat.
The Election Commission (EC) has fixed May 9 as polling day for GE14, with April 28 as nomination day and May 5 for early voting.
The Residensi Razakmas project, developed by Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd and was completed 16 months earlier than schedule, is equipped with facilities, such as community hall, playground and 24-hour security.
Tengku Adnan said the units at the 41-storey housing, each measuring 800 sq ft with three bedrooms and two bathrooms were sold for RM198,000 per unit.
He said that for the first quarter of this year, three RUMAWIP projects and one 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing project were completed.
“Until now, the government has been able to complete 17 RUMAWIP projects, involving 9,775 units,” he added. – BERNAMA
