KUANTAN – The Pahang squad need to secure a win over Melaka United in the FA Cup competition this Saturday, as a boost to the morale of their players.
Pahang chief coach Dollah Salleh said apart from that factor, a victory would also redeem the image of the squad which took a beating after their 2-3 loss to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) recently.
“I am looking forward to the match at Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan as the game could restore the image of the squad and spirit of the players.
“Even though Melaka United have not been playing well, we will not take the game lightly as any Super League team is just as formidable,” he said when met by reporters last night.
Meanwhile, Dollah said the current line-up of players had proved it was ready and capable to be in the first 11, and he was having a tough time to field the best players for each match.
“As competition among players to get fielded is so intense, some are worried about getting injured as they do not want their places to be taken. I also do not want to disappoint them as this could affect their morale.
“I hope they would not be disheartened and continue to give their best as there will always be slots for them,” he added. – BERNAMA
