KLUANG – The people should not be swayed by irresponsible parties constantly out to criticise Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and the government.
Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the government spared no effort to improve its performance and answered any allegation which came its way.
“This depends on the issue and who is making the accusation. If it is internal, we settle it internally but if it comes from the opposition, that is already part of their business,” he told reporters after a gathering with Felda settlers at Felda Kahang Timur here Saturday.
He was responding to criticisms aimed at Najib’s leadership and the government by some parties, including former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad recently.
As such, Hishammudin said the public should not be influenced by these irresponsible people, and left it to them to evaluate the efforts made by the government to assist the people.
Hishammuddin, who is also MP for Sembrong, said the government still had time and room for improvement in facing the coming general election.
On the meeting with Felda settlers in the Sembrong constituency today, he said there should be continuous effort in providing information on various issues relating to Felda, and in addressing problems faced by the settlers.
“Each area has different issues. In addition to briefing them on the issue of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd shares, third generation housing and land ownership, we also try to address the problems of elephant attacks and infrastructure development in Sembrong,” he said. – BERNAMA
