KOTA KINABALU – Athletes representing Sabah in the 18th SUKMA that will be hosted by Sarawak have been reminded to be disciplined at all times and display a high level of sporting spirit.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman also urged all athletes to have a high level of confidence and fighting spirit to achieve the 40-gold medal target set for the SUKMA.
“The target is 40 gold medals this year. It is not something impossible. If there is strength, confidence, determination and a high level of sporting spirit, I believe the athletes can be successful,” he said in his speech at the flag handing ceremony for the state SUKMA contingent today.
Musa handed the state flag to Sabah SUKMA contingent head Datuk Masiung Banah, who is also state assistant minister of Youth and Sports, at the Likas Sports Complex.
The Chief Minister also reminded athletes representing the state to always uphold the image and good name of Sabah.
