GEORGETOWN – Dinner In The Sky (DITS) Malaysia has made its Penang debut at the ThirtyTwo At The Mansion along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah with the theme for the astounding sea view.
Dinner In The Sky Malaysia organised by 2Spicy Entertainment Sdn Bhd, provides an immersive experience to enjoy dining and enjoying the scenery out in the open air and 150 feet (45.72 meters) off the ground.
Chief Executive Officer of 2Spicy Entertainment Arvin Randahwa said Penang was chosen as their second location after Kuala Lumpur, due to its scenic coastline, giving diners a spectacular view of the sea, sunset as well as the state’s skyline.
“Last year when we did the same event back in Kuala Lumpur, we were focusing on the city theme for the scenery and now we are focusing on the state scenic coastline and heritage buildings,” he told Bernama when met here today.
Already a well-known brand of entertainment, this Belgian based novelty service has done over 5,000 dinner events in 40 cities around the world so far.
Amongst iconic locations where Dinner In The Sky has taken place includes The Las Vegas Strip, the gardens of the King David Hotel, the Marina of Dubai, the hills of the Villa Borghese in Rome, the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the beach of Copacabana, Brazil and Cape Town bay.
Despite the height, Arvin pointed out that the safety and security of their clients was their upmost priority, thus performing safety inspection in all aspects with scrutiny.
He said guests will wear safety belts throughout, and a supervisor will be on hand to brief them on safety regulations and keep in constant communication with the crane operator and ground crew.
“It’s as if you’re riding a roller-coaster, you still get to enjoy the whole ride while still being absolutely safe on their seats while enjoying your fine dining in the sky,” he said.
He added for safety concern, children below 18 or anyone with heart conditional problems are not allowed for the ride and the session will be delayed or the table lowered to a more safety height in case the weather is not fine.
Priced at RM599 per person on the 22 seats table, the gourmet menu will be prepared by Chef Mathijs Nanne and Macalister Mansion’s Chef Eric Heijkoop from event partners YKH Group of Restaurants.
The dinner will be on at 6pm and 7.30pm weekdays, with an additional session at 9pm on weekends for a month, starting tomorrow. – BERNAMA
