BALIK PULAU: The case of four individuals who hadÂ allegedly participated in an illicit ‘nudist party’ in Penang last May, will be re mentioned at the Sessions Court on Dec 17.
Judge Sitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz set the date after counsel L. Raj who stood inÂ for the accused’s lawyers applied for a new mention date to enable the defenceÂ to submit a representation to the Attorney General’s Chambers.
On Aug 28, Chew Tok Hwa, 57; Chan Chia Wen, 27; Teh Guan Hoon, 37; and aÂ man, Kong Meng Leong, 38, were charged with causing public unease by being nakedÂ in a public place at Pantai Teluk Kampi, Penang National Park in Teluk Bahang.
They allegedly committed the offence between 3 pm and 5 pm on May 30 thisÂ year, under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of threeÂ months or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Six others, Loh Kok Hong, 41; Mu Wai Peng, 34; Justin Ang Ji Keng, 24; YamÂ Kam Hoong, 54; Lionel Loo Joo Heng, 52; and R. Nanda Kumar, 40, had earlierÂ pleaded guilty and were sentenced to one month’s jail and fined RM5,000 each.– BERNAMA
