KUALA LUMPUR: Debris found on an Australian island earlier this month is not from the missing flight MH370, says Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
ATSB said that aircraft manufacturer Boeing had confirmed this.
“On June 9, the ATSB was advised of possible aircraft debris located on Kangaroo Island in South Australia.
“Information received from the manufacturer indicates that the item is not consistent with the manufacturing specifications of a Boeing commercial aircraft,†ATSB said on its website yesterday.
It was reported that new pieces of debris were found in Madagascar by a man searching for parts of the aircraft.
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 had 239 people on board when it vanished in 2014. — Bernama
