KUALA LUMPUR – The Department of Civil Aviation today dismissed a rumour circulating on social media that a Malaysia Airlines flight had crashed in France.
DCA director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said MAS did not fly to Paris any longer after having discontinued Flight MH020 to the French capital city on Jan 20 this year.
“There is no such flight now. The rumour is untrue,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
A rumour had gone viral on social media networks such as Facebook and WhatsApp that Flight MH020 had crashed in Leon, Paris.
Netizens claimed that the flight from Kuala Lumpur with 366 people including 16 crew crashed at 12.15am (Malaysian time). – BERNAMA
