PETALING JAYA – The DAP National Convention 2014 Sunday passed nine resolutions covering 32 matters, including rejecting the proposed implementation of hudud (Islamic criminal law).
The resolutions were announced by Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh and unanimously passed by the 938 party delegates, who rejected the implementation of hudud as a legal system, whether at the state or national level.
The party expressed support for reformation of the national education system and urged for education using mother tongue be strengthened with recognition for the United Examination Certificate (UEC).
The one-day convention carried the theme, “Berat sama dipikul, ringan sama dijinjing”, which means that a heavy load as well as a light one should be borne together. – BERNAMA
