SHAH ALAM – A one-ton crocodile was found stuck in the water pool of a power plant in Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar in Klang yesterday.

Sungai Pinang Fire and Rescue Department chief Zaidi Ahtan said the department dispatched its 14 personnel to the scene after receiving the distress call at 11.45pm.

He said the crocodile was eventually found about 4am today with the help from the power plant employees.

“The fire personnel took about three hours to winch the crocodile up due to the narrow space of the pool with a depth of approximately nine metres,” he said when contacted here.

Zaidi said the firemen also had to use chain lock and other special tools to winch up the reptile to a safer location.

The rescue operation ended at 10am and the crocodile was handed over to the relevant authority for the next course of action, he added. – BERNAMA
