KUALA LUMPUR: The Sessions Court here today dismissed a suit filed against comedian and actor Zizan Razak by his former personal manager, Marina Juki, for alleged breach of agreement.
Judge Rosbiahanin Arifin dismissed the suit on grounds that all the terms and conditions in the agreement were made between Wire Fame Entertainment Sdn Bhd and Zizan.
“It is impossible the agreement can be made as a basis for Marina Juki to file an individual suit against the defendant. Therefore, the suit is dismissed,” she said.
The court also dismissed a counter-claim by Zizan, 32, whose real name is Mohd Razizan Ab Razak, against Marina for alleged abuse of court process.
Marina filed the suit on Nov 5, 2014, claiming that Zizan had breached the agreement signed by them and Wire Fame on May 3, 2011.
She claimed that based on the contract, Zizan agreed to engage her as a personal assistant under a four-year contract that was supposed to expire on May 2, 2015.
In the statement of claims, Marina stated that in May 2014, Astro confirmed that Zizan had come under its management on a contract worth RM2,000,000, and claimed that it was made done without her consent, and also Wire fame.
She said Zizan had breached the contract because his move to Astro was made before the expiry of the contract between them and Wire fame.
She had sought special damages of RM535,500, general damages, interests, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court
Marina also filed another suit against Zizan on Sept 30, 2014 over the freeze of Wire fame’s accounts, but Zizan applied to strike out the suit and on Feb 10 last year, the court ruled in his favour.
Lawyers Rishwant Singh and Wan Nurliyana Wan Abd Rahman represented Zizan and Marina, respectively.
