SEPANG: The police have reminded spectators at the upcoming Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2016 this weekend to put safety first and observe the cultural norms of the Malaysian community.
Sepang police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Ali (pic) also said visitors at the Sepang International Circuit were reminded not to bring drugs or dangerous weapons to the race or the Scorpions concert this weekend.
“Just enjoy the music,” he told a media conference at the Sepang police headquarters here Thursday.
Abdul Aziz gave the reminder to prevent a recurrence of an incident earlier this month when nine Australians stripped to their underwear during the Formula One race.
He also reminded MotoGP spectators to park their vehicles in the designated areas to prevent thefts or break-ins.
The 17th round of the MotoGP at SIC will held from Oct 29-30 and tickets are reportedly sold out.
Apart from the MotoGP race, German veteran rock band Scorpions will be holding its 50th anniversary concert at SIC. – Bernama
