PUCHONG: There is a possibility that certain victims were being targeted in the grenade attack in Puchong that injured eight people on Tuesday morning, said Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar (pic).
DCP Abd Rahim said that there is a possibility that there were individuals at the entertainment outlet in Puchong, which were being targeted by the attackers.
“They (the attackers) could have a certain target that they were targeting in the attack,” he told reporters after launching the Ops Selamat 9 at the Air Hitam toll plaza here on Wednesday.
He added that police also had a lead on the suspects but declined to elaborate further.
DCP Abd Rahim added that police had also formed a special task force headed by the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the attack.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
