ALOR SETAR: If previously a coconut milk product could only last only for several days or months and needs to be kept in a cool temperature, but in the future, it can be kept for a longer duration.
The idea was achieved when a bumiputera company, Agus Food Industries Sdn Bhd produced sterilized coconut milk which could last for two years and be kept at 26 degrees celcius in room temperature.
Its managing director Agus Shawal Elias, 33, said, the first batch was expected to be produced in March next year, with financial assistance provided by the Penang Regional Development Authority (Perda).
He disclosed this to Bernama when met at the Mini Entrepreneur Convention, organized by Perda here, last night.
The convention was organized to obtain feedback from entrepreneurs who had received assistance from Perda and to know their business development.
Meanwhile Uzai Products Industries Manager, Ruzaimi Mohd Adnan, 42, said he managed to achieve sales totalling RM1.5 million a year with the help of Perda.
“They had helped me a lot by providing me with guidance and fund and even brought us to expos and exhibitions overseas,” said Ruzaimi who produced specific detergents for homecare products, personal care and car care products.
A 38-year-old vehicle workshop entrepreneur, Fauzi Lebai Bakar, who also received advice, equipment and promotion guide from Perda, hoped to get a monthy profit of RM100,000 for next year as compared to RM60,000 right now.
He said the help from Perda made his workshop more efficient and well-known.
