Blake Lively has nothing but wonderful things to say about Woody Allen.

The actress has come to the controversial director’s defense before, and during her latest interview with Hamptons magazine, she continued to gush about Allen and her experience working with him on her upcoming film Café Society, which costars Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell, and Parker Posey.

“[Woody] creates a very pleasant set where everybody’s just happy to be there and happy to be making a movie, and happy to be a part of film history,” she said.

“For him to have that confidence in you almost gives you the confidence in yourself to just go with the flow. And those are the moments that he really likes, the found moments, the moments that aren’t written but just happen.”

She continued, “It’s really cool to work with a director who’s done so much, because he knows exactly what he wants. The fact that he does one shot for an entire scene—this could be a scene with eight people and one to two takes—it gives you a level of confidence because when he’s got it, he knows he’s got it.”

Lively added that Allen will give his actors free rein to improvise in scenes, which can be a daunting task.

“He also is really encouraging as to why he cast you, so he’ll say, ‘Say the dialogue that’s written and then you can improvise for a while.’ And his dialogue is so specific, and it’s speaking in a 1930s dialect and [with period] references, so it’s intimidating to think, Oh, let me just improvise there and hope that my words blend seamlessly alongside Woody Allen’s. Which they clearly wouldn’t and don’t. But he’s very empowering.”

Louis Tomlinson wants to ensure that he spends as much time with his 5-month-old son as possible.

E! News can confirm that the One Direction singer has filed for joint custody of little Freddie Reign from his ex Briana Jungwirth.

TMZ reports that his time with the baby has been “inconsistent” in recent weeks, and that Louis will be seeking 50/50 joint physical and legal custody.

Louis has been candid about his love for his son, and how much parenthood has changed him, and recently spoke about both in an interview with Capital FM.

When asked if he’s ever had any experience with changing diapers, he admitted, “Have I changed a nappy? I’d actually probably changed about a hundred nappies before Freddie because I used to help out with my sister so I have changed his nappy, thank you!”

He also revealed that he was “still getting used to” being away from his firstborn while on tour for One Direction and added, “I miss him, obviously, but it’s cool. I do get Father’s Day now.”

And on the annual holiday, Louis took to Instagram to share a shot of him holding Freddie’s little hand.

In the caption, the singer wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to every lucky lad out there who’s someone’s daddy! Thoroughly enjoyed my first. Love you Freddie son X.”

Louis became a father in January of this year after briefly dating the Los Angeles-based stylist last year.

Taylor Swift and new beau Tom Hiddleston aren’t wasting any time getting to know each other!

The 35-year-old Night Manager star introduced the 26-year-old singer to his mom Diana on Friday, while visiting her hometown of Suffolk on the east coast of England.

The introduction came a day after Swift introduced Hiddleston to her parents Scott and Andrea at her Nashville, Tennessee apartment.

In photos of the meeting, the trio looked happy, walking arm-in-arm together down the street near Diana’s home in the town of Ipswich. They were all smiles on the sunny day, Swift dressed in a chic black jumpsuit and black flats and the Hiddlestons both in jeans and blue tops.

Later, the group was spotted taking a stroll down a beach together, with Swift and Tom holding hands.

Earlier in the week, the new couple spent time in Nashville, where they danced and cuddled at Selena Gomez’s concert – getting particularly close during Gomez’s hit “Hands to Myself.” On Wednesday evening, the pair had a dinner date at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.

After meeting Swift’s parents on Thursday, the couple dined at farm-to-fork restaurant Adele’s in downtown Nashville, with singer-songwriter Holly Williams and her husband Chris Coleman. Hiddleston played Holly’s grandfather Hank Williams in the film I Saw the Light.

Swift and Hiddleston went public with their romance earlier this month. The duo were photographed kissing a few weeks ago, holding hands and cuddling on the beach in Rhode Island.

Summer 2015 was the season of celebrity splits — Ben and Jen, Gavin and Gwen, Blake and Miranda…

Turns out, summer 2016 is shaping up to be just as dismal with Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, as well as Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama, calling time on their romances. After six “loving and wonderful” years together, what happened between D and W?

The pair issued a joint statement on Instagram, confirming the end of their long-term relationship.

After the shock settled, whispers began to suggest that personalities may have clashed. A source said, “He’s this amazing salt of the Earth, sweet, hardworking guy and she just isn’t the right person for him.”

There’s also a 13-year age difference between the couple. He’s 36 and she is 23, suggesting they may simply be at different points in their lives.

Another source adds, “It had turned into more of a big brother-little sister kind of relationship. The romance wasn’t what it used to be. That said, Wilmer is still very protective of her. He did a lot for her—not just in terms of being there for her when she had her health issues, but really helping build her brand and launch her product lines. You never saw him out in front though. He never tried to ride her fame.”

Malaysian-born Australian director James Wan visited Sarawak last year for the first time in 20 years.

“That’s where I was born. I had to go back and reacquaint myself with distant family members and just to see and experience what had changed,” he shares about what inspired him to make the visit after so many years.

The director said he also needed to take a breather from work: “It was a good break. I wanted a change of culture. I’ve been working so hard in Hollywood and I just wanted to get away for a while.”

Born in Kuching, Sarawak, Wan and his family moved to Perth, Australia when he was seven.

“I remember the food,” he says about his memories of growing up in Malaysia. “I remember that I loved durian, which was one of my favourite things. I know that freaks people out but I love it and I love rambutans and all these tropical fruits, and I love laksa. I also remember celebrating Chinese New Year.”

The 39-year-old director first came into the spotlight with horror slasher film Saw in 2004, which spawned six sequels and launched the torture porn genre.

In recent years, Wan has been experiencing immense success in both the horror genre with the Insidious film series and The Conjuring as well as last year’s action-packed blockbuster Furious 7.

The latter earned US$1.5bil (RM6.12bil) globally, making it one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Asked if he has thought of filming in Malaysia, Wan responds: “If the location calls for it, it’d be amazing. When I was visiting Malaysia recently, I thought it’d be amazing to shoot something in the forest or beaches.

“Something beautiful, nothing scary.”

Wan is working on DC Comic’s Aquaman next. “It’s a very unique character. There’s a reason that it’s a superhero character that you haven’t seen until now because it’s a really hard story to tell.

“A big chunk of the story takes place underwater. We never had that kind of technology to work with until now,” he shares what he thinks will set Aquaman apart.

“Because of that, it has a different flavour (compared) to all the other superhero movies, it takes place in its own world and it has its own visual. So if anything it feels more like an action-adventure pirate story.”

A RAPE scene enacted by Amar Baharin for the drama series Akadku Yang Terakhir is drawing a lot of controversy for his “convincing” acting skills, Kosmo! reported.

Ironically, the scene had already been edited out by the production house.

The 31-year-old actor said director Amie Mazia had recorded his rape scene with actress Tizz Zaqyah on her phone and uploaded on her Instagram account to promote the drama. She did not anticipate the reaction as the video clip spread like wildfire and most fans criticised it as overboard, Amar added.

Amar, however, asked fans to have an open mind as it was merely acting.

“I am not affected by this issue because I feel that those who criticise it did not read the novel or watch the drama,” he said.

Amar said although he was heavily criticised, people were talking about the drama and this meant they were interested in it and were more likely to watch it.

It all started when Kilafairy followed her mum to a TV set one day. Her mother, popular 1980s singer Rohana Jalil, was paying a visit to her friend, celebrity chef Jaafar Onn, who was filming on the set.

“While waiting for her, a cameraman asked me to stand in front of the camera to mark something,” she recalls the beginnings of her showbiz career.

“As it was a KRU production, that tape was brought back to KRU Studios. I think abang Norman (Abdul Halim) saw the tape and asked, ‘Who’s this girl?’ He then asked me to come in and film an episode of a musical drama.”

Shortly after, the then 18-year-old signed with KRU Studios for a year where she starred in her first film, the 2011 horror flick, Karak.

Kilafairy says she never thought of pursuing a showbiz career until that fateful day actually, although she often sang at corporate dinners.

“I didn’t plan to be in this industry at all, I wanted to be a businesswoman,” says the now 24-year-old who has a degree in fashion marketing and management.

Since then, Kilafairy, whose real name is Syakila Nisa Jahangir Khan, has starred in numerous drama series such as Saiful Nita and Cinta Agra. Recently, she’s been getting more attention for her musical talents too.

1. There’s an interesting story behind your stage name, Kilafairy. Tell us about it.

Since I was five, I was crazy about Peter Pan. Up until I was 14, I would wait for Peter Pan to come to my window so much so that my dad built a bench for me by the window.

My sister called me Tinkerbell at first. I told her, “I’m not Tinkerbell. No, Peter hates her.” So she called me Kilafairy. (“Kila” is taken from her name Syakila and “fairy” from the fairytale which sees its protagonist interacting with faeries and other mythical creatures.)

From then on, even at school, all my friends called me Kilafairy. When I entered the industry, I didn’t want to use my full name as I wanted to have a bit of privacy. So my friend suggested I go with Kilafairy.

2. What are your musical influences and how did you come to record Setia?

I love R&B, hip-hop and soul music. I was born a universal listener. I listened to all kinds of music as a kid, but R&B just caught me.

The lyrics and how they sing it … they sing it from the soul. I love Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, Travis Scott, Jeremih and Usher.

I wanted my first single to be R&B but as we’re trying to get into the market, it’s hard to sell R&B here. Setia is a ballad and I love ballads too. Even my mum says I should do ballads as it suits me.

We’re taking baby steps towards R&B, you’ll hear some R&B in my singles in the future.

People think that I got into this industry because of my mum, that they don’t know that I’ve been working very hard.

3. You have a telemovie coming up where you spoke in the Kelantan dialect. What was that like?

Mek Kelate is about these three friends trying to open a business. I play like the big sister to these two other girls. They’re from Kelantan and they’re trying to sell Kelantanese food in Kuala Lumpur. And so we have to speak Kelantanese.

My dad is from a part of Terengganu nearing the border of Kelantan. My cousins speak Kelantanese. I can too, but not as good as my dad. I have a bit of foundation in it so it wasn’t too difficult.

4. Do you see having a famous mum as an advantage or a disadvantage to your career?

It’s both. The disadvantage is people think that I got into this industry because of my mum, that they don’t know that I’ve been working very hard.

But I focus more on the positive side, which is, I get to learn a lot (from my mother) compared to other artistes who are new, who may not know how the industry works or how to interact with the media.

I’ve gotten comments from senior reporters who have said that I am able to speak and mingle well with them.

5. What qualities do you look for in your dream man?

Someone who doesn’t smoke. Someone who respects his elders. Someone who’s funny, a gentleman and manly – like a mixture of Thor and Iron Man (laughs). Thor is manly and gentlemanly but not funny. Iron Man is funny and a gentleman.-The StarTwo

The celebrity duo Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have formally ended their 12-year marriage and as part of their private settlement have given up their rights to spousal support. They will also determine child custody, visitation and support amongst themselves.

The resolution was reached when the 43-year-old ‘Iron Man’ actress asked a judge to officially end her marriage after Chris, 39, deliberately failed to respond to her divorce petition because they had already reached an agreement about the terms of their split in private.

In doing so, the couple who share joint custody of their son Moses, 10, and daughter Apple, 12 ought to be able to keep the specific details of their agreement between themselves.

In 2014, Gwyneth and Chris released a much-discussed statement via her Goop site announcing that they were “consciously uncoupling” a phrase that led to widespread ridicule. Since then, however, the pair have remained on good terms and have even been on holiday together with their children.

Gwyneth has previously admitted just how much she struggled to cope with the collapse of her marriage.

She shared: “I am from a tribe of people who stay married. My parents stayed married until my dad died.”

Indeed, the Hollywood star said her marriage to the Coldplay front-man had been a “failure”.

She explained: “I really don’t come from a culture of divorce at all and I had very high hopes for what my life could be. I think that it was very difficult for me that I couldn’t do that and that I wasn’t able to be married to the father of my children for the rest of my life. It was very challenging for me in terms of having to re-assess what that said about me, ideas that I had about that kind of failure.”

Kylie Jenner did say this was, like, her year of just realizing stuff – and apparently what she realized is that she and Tyga are not meant to be.

The 18-year-old reality star and 26-year-old rapper have split, ET has confirmed. Kylie and Tyga were thought to have begun dating in 2014, when she was only 17, but never confirmed their relationship until after her 18th birthday in August.

“Kylie and Tyga are done. The back and forth breakups have happened so many times, but this time is for real,” a source close to Kylie tells ET.

This isn’t the first time the couple has gone their separate ways, and Kylie previously said that her fans get “too invested,” so she doesn’t want them to know “every time we fight or break up.” So, what went wrong this time?

This isn’t the first time the couple has gone their separate ways, and Kylie previously said that her fans get “too invested,” so she doesn’t want them to know “every time we fight or break up.” So, what went wrong this time?
“They’ve broken up over lying, growing apart, family drama, etcetera,” the source reveals. “This breakup with purely over the fact that they have outgrown each other and realized they weren’t meant to be. At the end of the day, the relationship ran its course.”

The source says the on-and-off couple has broken up at least 10 times in the past, but always got back together shortly afterward.

“Tyga was Kylie’s first real, true adult love and she didn’t want to let it go,” we’re told. “She tried really hard to make it work – but she finally let it go. Kylie realizes Tyga is not the person for her.”

LOS ANGELES: Reality television star Sharon Osbourne has confirmed her split with heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and said she planned a long think about her future.

Sharon Osbourne, who was also manager to her husband and other rockers, returned on Tuesday to her spot on the daytime show The Talk and was asked about reports she booted Ozzy from their Los Angeles-area mansion.

“No, it’s true,” she said with a deadpan expression. She said that Ozzy had since returned to their former home, and that she in turn left.

One of the most enduring couples in the rock world, the Osbournes have been married for more than 33 years.

Sharon Osbourne, 63, initially met Ozzy when her father in their native England was managing Black Sabbath, one of the defining heavy metal bands.

Sharon Osbourne said she had turned off the television in recent days and was beginning to think about her future.

“I honestly at this point today have no idea what I’m going to be doing with the rest of my life. I don’t know where I’m going, who I’m going with,” she said.

“Because this is, like, getting to the last chapter of this book and I really want to think about it very carefully, about where I want to go,” she said.

The reasons for the split were unclear but Ozzy, 67, has denied that he had relapsed into his well-publicised past alcohol and drug problems.

But in a hint that the split was linked to an affair, she took the stage of The Talk conspicuously holding a glass of lemonade.

Beyonce’s latest album, Lemonade, hints at infidelity by her husband, rap mogul Jay Z.

Sharon Osbourne was instrumental in managing Ozzy’s career, including recruiting songwriters and guitarists who kept him in the forefront of heavy metal as a solo artist.

She went on to manage other artists and became a public figure in the early 2000s when her life with Ozzy and two of their three children was turned into an MTV reality show, The Osbournes. – AFP
