MELAKA – The considerate act of an orphan that put forth the needs of others caught the attention of Deputy Tourism and Culture Minister, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.
“It touched me as it showed that the act of giving is not exclusive to those who are fortunate, but extends all boundaries and age,” she told reporters after a shopping trip with orphans of the Masjid Tanah constituency, here today.
During the trip, 200 orphans and less fortunate children from 64 branches of the Masjid Tanah constituency were celebrated and given RM200 vouchers to buy Hari Raya needs and clothes.
As such, she urged those who are wealthy and caring to share with those who are less fortunate.
Mas Ermieyati, who is also the Puteri UMNO chief, said the social responsibility programme is the best medium to get close to the unfortunate, including orphans and the poor. – BERNAMA
