KANGAR – The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has reminded the public who wanted to buy the famed Harumanis mangoes online to get them from legitimate online distributors to avoid being cheated.
He said online buyers were often exposed to the risk of obtaining poor quality or potentially stolen fruits.
“Do not fall for advertisements which offer Harumanis mangoes without providing details of its sources,” he said this after receiving a courtesy call from member of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand Datuk Anusart Suwanmongkol here today.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this year, the peak of Harumanis season in Perlis was expected to fall during the fasting month of Ramadan, hence, more fruits would be available in the market and the public could purchase it at the various sale programmes organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) throughout the country, or at the state Agriculture offices, or at the Bukit Bintang 1 Agriculture Centre, Sungai Batu Pahat near here.
In addition, he said the fruit could also be purchased directly from growers with My Good Agriculture Practice (MyGAP) certificates that guaranteed the quality of the fruits. – BERNAMA
