PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman is investigating a video, which depicted four masked men issuing a warning that they would blow up fireworks at a courthouse in Malaysia on Wednesday, to symbolise their mistrust in the judicial system.
Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mortadza Nazarene said the police have begun a probe into the video, supposedly to be an Islamic State-style terror threat.
“We are aware of the video and we are taking it seriously,” he said when contacted on Monday.
The Star is trying to get comments from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
The clip went viral a week after Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was found guilty for sodomising his former aide and sentenced to five years in jail by the Federal Court.
In the one-minute long video that was uploaded to one ‘Isis Malaysia 69’ YouTube account on Sunday, one of the four men declared that their action signalled the beginning of their protest on the breakdown of democracy.
Another person was also seen brandishing a Molotov cocktail while several patrol bombs graced the table in front of them and a Malaysian flag was hung in the background.-The Star
