PETALING JAYA: A total of RM260.8bil has been allocated for Budget 2017, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic).
Speaking before Parliament on Friday, he said this marked a 3.4% increase from the 2016 revised budget.
Najib had announced a revision of Budget 2016 on Jan 28, citing a slump in global oil prices and a slower economic growth in the United States and China as reasons for the revision.
In earlier announcements about Budget 2017, Najib – who is also the Finance Minister – had previously said he would be addressing the uncertain economic climate.
He said that important areas of concern were housing, reducing the cost of living and various other issues which the Government had identified.
