Budget 2017: Call For More Incentives For GLCs

in Latest

MELAKA – Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad wants the Government to provide more incentives for government-linked companies(GLCs) in Budget 2017 to assist them in providing job opportunies and training to graduates of higher education institutions.

Its chairman Tan Sri Mohd Ali Rustam said that he was of the opinion that it would be a waste in terms of work force if graduates were left without any training to increase their marketability.

“With training, graduates can acquire skills and experience before they step out for other jobs or even if they decide to start their own business,” he told Bernama.

He said that GLCs, on their part, should also plan effective programmes to assist the graduates.

Mohd Ali also hoped that the government could provide alternative housing loans for qualified applicants of affordables homes and the 1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme, as some still failed to get their loans approved from banks and other financial institutions.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is scheduled to table Budget 2017 in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday. – BERNAMA
