PUTRAJAYA: Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd has assured the government of their commitment in ensuring the promotion of local brands and products.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said he was satisfied with the premier mall’s explanation that promoting Malaysian-made goods was an integral part of their business model.
Following a meeting with its top management to address the impending relocation of local brand BritishIndia (Asia) Sdn Bhd to another part of the mall, Hasan said the ministry had concluded that it was an issue between a landlord and a tenant.
“We organised the meeting between the two disputed parties so that we may reach to a solution to this problem,â€
“Both are important local businesses and both carry the Malaysian brand, hence it is my wish that they find a ‘win-win’ solution towards this dispute in the most harmonious manner, which would be an auspicious beginning for both parties marking a prosperous start for this Chinese New Year,â€
Hasan said this in a statement after the meeting on Tuesday evening.
Hasan said he will closely monitor Suria KLCC’s retail strategic plan and will take a personal interest in ensuring that they kept to their word.-NST
