PETALING JAYA: One of the injured victims in the Penang expressway shooting told someone over the phone how “the bodyguard had gone mad” before he shot his Datuk boss dead.
According to a witness who lodged a police report Thursday, she was driving along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway when she noticed a man bleeding from the head and face.
Thinking that it was a traffic accident, she stopped and offered to send him to hospital.
Enroute, the man asked her if he could use her phone to contact his family, she said in her report.
She then overheard the injured man saying that “the bodyguard had gone mad” and that “tailo (boss in Cantonese)” was dead.
She also heard the man say that the bodyguard had hit him on the head with his gun.
The man then called another person and said that all his belongings and his bag were in the boss’ car.
Upon hearing this, the witness said she dropped the man off at a petrol station out of fear.
Three people, one of them a Datuk, were shot dead during the 7.30pm incident.
Four others were injured in the shooting.
Police have arrested the suspected shooter, who is the personal bodyguard of the Datuk.
