KUCHING – Sarawak Barisan Nasional is confident of recapturing the lost seats in the 2011 state election.
PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg said this could be achieved via the strong unity among the supporters particularly Chinese voters.
“We lost the urban seats last time because of the infighting between us and not because they are strong and I am confident that if the Chinese are united we can win back the urban seats,” he said.
He told reporters this after launching the Sarawak tourism LED billboard and walkabout at Satok, here last night.
Earlier, Abang Johari said the LED billboard was put up to promote tourism activities and programmes outlined by the state government.
During the 10th state election in 2011, BN secured 55 of the 71 seats while DAP won 12 seats, PKR 3 and independent, one.
This time around, 82 seats, including 11 additional seats, are up for grab following the redelineation exercise.
