ACTRESS and pop star Billie Piper and actor Laurence Fox have separated, it has been confirmed.

The couple, who married in 2007, have confirmed their split after eight years of marriage and have asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Billie and the Lewis actor, 37, share two sons Winston, seven and Eugene, three.

In a short statement released on the actor’s Facebook page, it read: “Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated.

“No third parties involved. For the sake of our family we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time.”

“It absolutely happened when I met Bill. We were in a rehearsal room and I knew there and then she was the one for me,” he told The Daily Mirror back in 2010.

Laurence and Billie met while starring in a play called Treats together in 2006.

The couple married at the 12th century parish chuch of St Mary’s in Easebourne, West Sussex, near the family home on New Year’s Eve in 2007.

While appearing on GMTV back in 2008, the actor revealed how the couple shared a “drunken lunch” during their honeymoon in Mexico and ending up getting matching tattoos to mark their marriage.

The actor’s tattoo, which is inked on his forearm, reads: “Mrs Fox 31st December 2007”.

While hers reads: “Mr Fox 31 December 2007”.

Earlier this month, Fox described his perfect evening with Dr Who actress Billie.

In an interview with the Express, he said: “Sitting next to my wife, watching telly, taking it easy with a glass of wine and a Thai chilli and basil stir-fry chicken.

“That’s one of my signature dishes, so I cook it.

“But she’s a great cook, too.”

Billie, 33, was there to support her husband at the press night performance of “The Patriotic Traitor” at the Park Theatre on February 25th this year, just a month before the couple decided to split.

Speaking earlier this year, when releasing his first album, Fox admitted that he would never record with Billie.

He said: “No, no, no. We’ve never discussed it.

“We have at one point in our lives sat down and had a little tinkle with a song, but we’re into quite different sorts of music.”

And while Billie, 33, and Laurence, 37, hid their marriage breakdown from the public cracks started to show earlier this month when Laurence called someone a “c***” during a performance of The Patriotic Traitor at London’s Park Theatre.

Before leaving the stage angrily, he yelled: “I won’t bother telling you the story because this c*** in the front row has ruined it for

He later apologised for being a “cunning stunt”.

And the Lewis star recently told Loose Women’s Janet Street Porter that he had been desperate to snog her.

It comes after his uncle Edward Fox, 78, said women should get used to their husbands cheating because all men do it.

He explained: “In relationships, men wander naturally, and we cheat because we’re totally different creatures.

“Men need to play the field and spread their seed, whereas women don’t have that same biological urge – it’s not natural.

“Because of that essential difference, women should be more understanding if their partner cheats.”

It will be Billie Piper’s second divorce. She married Top Gear host Chris Evans in 2001 and they split six years later.

A spokesman confirmed they had split and said they would not be commenting further. – Daily Mirror
