THE 34-year-old singer Beyonce will kick off her tour in Miami, Florida on April 27 and United Way, Chime for Change and Global Citizen will all be involved as part of her BeyGOOD initiative.
“The ‘Formation’ world tour creates another exciting global opportunity for people everywhere to BeyGOOD, pay it forward and lend support to those in need. Through our collaborations with our strategic charity partners, we’ve created simple ways for everyone to participate. Because we believe together we can make the world better standing, living and giving in Good Formation,” said the director of Philanthropy, Ivy McGregor.
BeyGOOD was launched in 2013 during the ‘Mrs. Carter World Tour’ as the charity umbrella for the singer’s global charity initiatives.
“We’re grateful that Beyonce is lending her voice and support to those in Flint whose lives have been impacted by this crisis,” said President and CEO of United Way Worldwide, Brian Gallagher.
Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, praised Beyonce for being “inspiring and motivating”.
“Beyonce is catalyzing a movement across the world that will both inspire and motivate. We are excited to have the opportunity in partnership with Chime for Change to channel this enthusiasm to programs and campaigns that will effect real change across the world,” he said.
“As a Co-Founder of Gucci’s Chime for Change campaign, Beyonce leads a global effort to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world. CHIME FOR CHANGE is honoured to partner with the ‘Formation’ world tour and Global Citizen,” said Gucci President and CEO, Marco Bizzarri. – Bernama
