Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about a certain beauty pageant contestant who has gained notoriety over her rambling interview session with Astro Gempak.
The Dewi Remaja 2015 hopeful, Mawar Rashid, faced public scrutiny when she failed to define what the abbreviation GST actually stood for, despite telling journalist Elly Ariffin that she had made her research on the newly-implemented good and services tax.
Drowned in embarrassment, 20-year-old Mawar posted a public apology following her GST snafu on her Instagram.
“I would like to say sorry to those who are affected by this issue. Admittedly, I blame myself and I take every comment–positive and negative ones– to heart,” she said to entertainment portal Murai.com.my.
Acknowledging her mistake, Mawar added that her nerves got the better of her, but did not blame the reporter for ‘headbutting’ her with serious questions.
“She (Elly) was just doing her job, and it was my fault I didn’t read enough about GST in the first place.”
However, Mawar remained positive on her budding career in showbiz.
Not letting the little glitch slow her down, Mawar said she was eager to grow and gain new experiences through her participation in Dewi Remaja.
“I hope I can learn as much as I can in this contest and ready myself mentally for the challenges I’m about to face in this industry,” she chirped.-MYNEWSHUB.CC
