KUALA LUMPUR – Sodomy II prosecution lawyer Tan Sri Shafee Abdullah’s conduct will not be discussed at the Bar Council’s 69th Annual General Meeting (AGM) said Bar Council President Christopher Leong.
Prior to the start of AGM, Leong told reporters that they have received the injunction obtained by Shafee yesterday and will abide by it.
Shafee yesterday obtained an injunction from the Kuala Lumpur High Court to prevent the Bar Council from tabling a motion on his conduct following the Sodomy II trial.
The motion on was proposed by veteran lawyer Tommy Thomas and retired Court of Appeal judge Tan Sri V.C. George.
The motion called for the Bar Council to called on the Bar Council to lodge a complaint against Shafee with the Disciplinary Board and take all other steps to prevent him from bringing the legal profession into disrepute. – NST Online
