MERSING – The antics of a female baby monkey named ‘Jenny’ stole the attention of the people at a temporary relief centre here.
The three-month-old monkey always accompanied its owner, Khairunisa Faizal, 10, cheering up flood victims housed at Sekolah Agama Pengkalan Batu.
Jenny, whose mother had died, was found by Khairunisa’s father on an island in Mersing last year and brought back to their home in Kampung Jemari.
“We like to joke around, playing in the room, … she always sleeps with me,” Khairunisa told reporters during a visit by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim to the relief centre today.
She added that when their house was inundated with flood waters, her family members including Jenny had to be evacuated to the centre. – BERNAMA
