KANGAR- Menteri Besar Perlis, who is also the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Bintong state seat, was seen queuing in line together with other voters this morning.
He was seen waiting for two hours to cast the ballot at SK Bintong together with voters in the constituency despite being allowed by the polling officer to cut queue based on his capacity as Menteri Besar.
“Today all voters are equal, there is no special privilege even if you are Menteri Besar.
“We can see that everyone came early today and they are willing to wait, so why can’t I?” said Datuk Seri Azlan Man when met today.
Azlan also applauded senior citizens who waited patiently for their turn.
“It is unfair for me to cut queue of senior citizens who arrived early at the polling centre.
“Thus it is proper for them (senior citizens) to be allowed to vote first, compared to me as I am still healthy and strong,” he said.
Azlan arrived with his wife Datin Seri Nor Aswana Omar at the polling centre at 8.45am.
Meanwhile, Azlan also urged the people in the state to carry out their responsibility.
“People have waited for five years, so they should come out to exercise their rights until 5pm today,” he said.- New Straits Times
