KOTA KINABALU – Four individuals, including a deputy director of a government department, are in remand for seven days from today for investigation into alleged misappropriation in a transport infrastructure project in Sabah.
The three others included an assistant engineer at a government department and a company director.
The remand order was issued by Magistrate Cindy Mc Balitus following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), represented by its prosecuting officer Faliq Basirudin.
The four individuals, aged between 37 and 58, were detained by MACC yesterday for investigation under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
Following their arrest, the commission also seized several vehicles, a certain amount of cash and froze the several bank accounts. – BERNAMA
