KUALA LUMPUR – Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman held a bilateral meeting with his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates UAE) Sheikh Abdullah Zayed Al Nahyan here today.
The closed-door meeting, which lasted for about an hour from 12.15 pm, was part of Sheikh Abdullah’s programme during his two-day official visit to Malaysia.
Sheikh Abdullah arrived here Friday, and scheduled to return this evening.
According to a statement from Wisma Putra Thursday, Anifah and Sheikh Abdullah are expected to discuss and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interests.
UAE is one of Malaysia’s important trading partners in the Middle East with trade between the two countries totalling RM27.7 billion last year, from RM24.8 billion in 2012. – BERNAMA
