KOTA KINABALU – Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman contributed a total of RM20,000 to two journalist associations in Sabah.
He said the Sabah Journalist Association (SJA) and the Kota Kinabalu Journalist Association (KKJA) each received RM10,000 as a token of appreciation for the media’s role in providing press coverage on his ministry’s events.
“I am happy with the coverage given to us. You (media) have been very professional with the accuracy of facts you have put forward,” he said at a dinner with the Sabah media, here, last night.
Anifah acknowledged the important role the media played in providing facts to the public regarding issues that were of interest to the country.
He said such matters were usually discussed behind closed doors and therefore, the relationship that his ministry had established with the media allowed information to be shared with the public. – BERNAMA
