ROMPIN – A total of 120 anglers from seven countries joined the two-day Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge (RPBIC) which begins here today.
The participants in 33 boats were flagged off by Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Maznah Mazlan at Kampung Pantai Bernas tourism jetty, Kuala Rompin here at 8.45am.
Apart from winning cash prizes totalling RM60,000, the top winner will also get the opportunity to participate in the final round of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Offshore World Championship at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.
RPBIC is one of the 63 events acknowledged by the IGFA as part of its world circuit. – NST Online
