SCOTT Rudin, a Hollywood producer, described Angelina Jolie as a “minimally talented, spoiled brat.â€
This has leaked from emails which were sent to a top Sony Pictures executive, and allegedly the reason for this is the actress’ object to news about David Fincher as the director of the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic movie.
Last month, hackers reportedly made these private email exchange public, who illegally got access to the databases and movie studio’s computer systems. During the cyber raid, information such as personal details about Jolie and Cameron Diaz, salary information of stars Seth Rogen and James Franco and films which include Brad Pitt’s “Fury†and the upcoming “Annie†were also taken and posted online.
Now, email exchange between Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal and furious Scott Rudin has found it’s way onto the internet. After Jolie heard that Sony Bosses would give Jobs movie to Fincher, she felt “upset.†The reason for this is a schedule which would mean that Fincher wouldn’t be able to take on her forthcoming Cleopatra movie, which has been put on hold by Jolie in favor of her latest project “Unbroken.â€
In an email titled “YOU BETTER SHUT ANGIE DOWN BEFORE SHE MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR DAVID TO DO JOBS,†Rudin, who recently worked with Brad Pitt on “Moneyball,†blasted complaints about her and he blamed the actress-turned-director for the scheduling clash. “I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie.
I have no desire to be making a movie with her, or anybody, that she runs and that we don’t. She’s a camp event and a celebrity and that’s all and the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her that any fool could see coming.
We will end up being the laughing stock of our industry and we will deserve it, which is so clearly where this is headed that I cannot believe we are still wasting our time with it…†– He wrote in an email on February 14.
“There is NO relationship with any movie star – ANY one — that requires our willingness to prostrate ourselves this way in the face of childish, irresponsible, willful and un-partnerly (sic) behavior.†– Scott added. Jobs movie will be produced by Rudin, and Michael Fassbender will feature as the late tech genius. Universal Pictures’ Danny Boyle will direct the movie, after it has been unexpectedly dropped last month by Sony.
The hacker group, which is called the Guardians of Peace, claimed responsibility for the leaks from Sony in recent days. They stated that the group will continue to leak information unless the upcoming movie, The Interview, isn’t canceled.
