PETALING JAYA: Batu MP Tian Chua and several activists have been barred by the Immigration Department from leaving the country.
“With the latest travel ban, I’m completely stuck in Peninsular Msia – already barred from Sabah & Sarawak, now can’t go overseas or even Spore,” Tian Chua said on Twitter on Thursday.
Activists Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, Maria Chin Abdullah, Hishamuddin Rais and Adam Adli Abdul Halim are among those who have also been stopped from going abroad.
Ambiga said she was on her way to “Immigration to check with them.”
On Wednesday, travel bans were imposed on SRC International Sdn Bhd and 1MDB former chief investment officer Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, The Edge Media Group owner Datuk Tong Kooi Ong, DAP MP Tony Pua and PKR MP Rafizi Ramli.
