KUALA LUMPUR – Almost 500,000 Pilgrims’ Fund Board or Tabung Haji (TH) depositors’ accounts involving savings worth RM62.8 million will be classified as inactive accounts beginning June 1, 2018 .
TH in a statement today said, the accounts had remained inactive for more than seven consecutive years.
“We advise account holders to activate their respective accounts by making a deposit or withdrawal at any TH branches, counters or via TH online strategic partners before May 31, 2018.”
TH added that it was important for the account holders to update their personal details such as their address, telephone number and beneficiaries so that TH staff could contact future pilgrims or their beneficiaries on matters such as asset management or to deliver Haj offer letters.
“If the account holders cannot be contacted, they may lose their chance to perform the Haj that year and will have to wait for the following year to perform their pilgrimage,” it said.
TH also urged account holders or custodians who have lost their account books, to produce their identity card or birth certificate at any TH branch, for the purpose of updating their information and replacing the account books.
