IPOH: Two hundred and eighty five people from 40 families were evacuated from their homes Kampung Sri Klebang Tambahan 2 following flash floods on Monday.
Evacuation and rescue efforts were initiated after the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 9.41pm.
A Fire and Rescue spokesperson said water levels had risen to around three feet.
â€œWe managed to move all of the trapped victims and they are currently seeking shelter at SK Sri Klebang and Taman Klebang Selatan 2 community hall.
â€œWe are still monitoring the current flood situation,â€ he said.
He added that rescue efforts also involved the Simpang Pulai and Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Department. MYNEWSHUB
