ARAU – Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa heads the list of 282 recipients of awards and medals in conjunction with the 74th birthday of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.
Ali Hamsa received the Seri Paduka Mahkota Perlis (SPMP) which carries the title Datuk Seri in an investiture ceremony at Istana Arau, here today.
The other recipient of SPMP was Malaysian Armed Forces chief, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor.
The ruler also presented Perlis awards and medals to 38 other individuals.
Malaysian Army East Field Commander, Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Zaki Mokhtar was the sole recipient of Datuk Setia Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DWSJ) which carries the title Datuk Wira.
Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka director-general Datuk Abdul Adzis Abas received the Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perlis (DPMP) which carries the title Datuk.
Four individuals were conferred the Datuk Setia Paduka Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DSPJ) which also carries the title Datuk.
They were State Executive Council (Exco) member Khairi Hasan, Commander of 9th Infantry Brigade , Brigadier General Dzulkafli Mustaffa, Commander of 13th Infantry Brigade (ESSCOM), Brigadier General Muhammad Anwar Abdullah and Petronas Dagangan Berhad chief executive officer and managing director, Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus.
The lone recipient of Datuk Panglima Sirajuddin Jamalullail (DPSJ) which also carries the title Datuk was lecturer of School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Prof Dr Hasnah Osman.
Five people conferred the Setia Mahkota Perlis (SMP) were Perlis Legal Adviser, Wan Jeffry Kassim, Dewan Negara member Abdul Shukor PA Mohd Sultan and director of Inland Revenue Board, Penang, Halijah Bulat, principal assistant director Boundary Cooperation Division (National Security Council), Colonel Abdul Rahman A.Wahab and director of Syarikat Konsortium Bumita Nepta Sdn Bhd, Lee Hor Yin.
Deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Innovation) Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Prof Dr Abdul Hamid Adom and Dean of School of Mechatronics Engineering UniMAP, Assoc Prof Dr Abu Hassan Abdullah were among 28 recipients of Darjah Seri Sirajuddin Perlis (SSP). – BERNAMA
