KUALA LUMPUR – AirAsia Group recorded a load factor of 77 per cent for the first quarter (Q1) 2015, down one percentage point as compared to the same quarter last year.
In statement by AirAsia Bhd, it said the number of passengers carried by the group increased by three per cent year-on-year to 11.9 million, together with a five per cent increase in capacity.
At the end of the quarter under review, the groupâ€™s total fleet size stood at 171, an addition of 14 aircraft year-on-year.
Load factor for Malaysia AirAsia, Thai AirAsia, Philippinesâ€™ AirAsia and AirAsia India for Q1 stood at 75 per cent, 83 per cent, 70 per cent and 79 per cent respectively, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, new routes introduced in Q1 were Kuala Lumpur â€“ Pontianak, Johor Bahru â€“ Medan, Bangkok â€“ Loei, Bangkok – Nan, Bangkok -Roi Et, Manila â€“ Davao and Cebu â€“ Kota Kinabalu. – BERNAMA
