PETALING JAYA: AirAsia says they are not sponsoring Canadian serial nudist Emil Kaminski’s blog monkeetime.com and wants their logo to be removed.
In a press statement on Tuesday, the airline said they have requested for the logo removal.
“While AirAsia works closely with many bloggers and supports the creativity of online content creators, we definitely do not condone any behaviour that disrespects any culture of the communities we serve,†said AirAsia.
On Monday, Kaminski, who claimed to be one of the nudists who posed for photographs on Mount Kinabalu, called the experience the “time of my life”. He also brushed off as superstition the Kadazan Dusun belief that their action had incurred the wrath of the mountain.
Kaminski, on Monkeetime’s Twitter page, also insulted Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, calling him an “idiot” and “not a minister of tourism”.
Kaminski also wrote that he believed in having some “decency laws” but did not see the harm in being photographed nude on a “remote mountaintop”.
He added that his “butt photos” were taken in remote places where hardly anyone saw him.
Monkeetime’s YouTube page was founded on March 2007, and has over 10,000 subscribers and over five million views.
