LABUAN – An ailing secondary school teacher who was on long medical leave was killed while enroute to her school here this morning when the car she was driving collided head-on with another driven by a teacher of another school.
Lim Li Hong, 50, who was heading to the SMK Taman Perumahan Bedaun died on the spot in the crash which occurred at 6.15am, opposite the Taman Mutiara shoplots, a few hundred metres from the school.
Initial police investigations revealed that Lim might have lost control of her Toyota Vios which skidded and rammed into the other oncoming car driven by a female teacher from SK Bebuloh.
Labuan police chief, Supt Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the impact of the crash caused the body to be trapped inside the car before it was extricated by a team of 10 firemen who arrived in an engine from the Labuan Fire and Rescue Department.
He said the 36-year-old SK Bebuloh teacher, along with her two passengers escaped unhurt. – BERNAMA
