KUALA LUMPUR – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today spent time to meet with representatives of the Overseas UMNO Club at the Putra World Trade Centre, here.
The UMNO vice-president’s 30-minute meeting involved 80 representatives of UMNO Clubs from 23 countries, mostly comprising Malaysian students pursuing studies abroad.
During the meeting, they took the opportunity to discuss current issues on politics, the economy and education.
At the meeting, Ahmad Zahid, who is also an UMNO vice-president, was accompanied by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki as well as the secretary of the Overseas UMNO Club, Datuk Abdul Shariff Hamid.
Ahmad Zahid, also gave away the Overseas UMNO Club Excellence Award to the club showing the best performance throughout this year.
This year’s award was won by the Adelaide Overseas UMNO Club, Australia which received a plaque and a cash prize of RM2,000.
The representatives were here in conjunction with the 2015 UMNO General Assembly beginning Tuesday and ending tomorrow. – BERNAMA
