KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has appointed Datuk Ahmad Maslan Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in a cabinet reshuffle today.
Ahmad, who is the Barisan Nasional-UMNO Member of Parliament for Pontian, would replace Datuk Hamim Samuri.
Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and Datuk Lee Chee Leong remained the minister and deputy minister of MITI respectively.
Ahmad was Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department from Apr 10, 2009 to Apr 3, 2013 before helming the Deputy Finance Minister portfolio from May 16, 2013.
Ahmad has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economy and Political Science from the Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand and a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. – BERNAMA
