PENDANG – Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who is recovering from an intestinal surgery at Penang Hospital, is eager to return to work.
State Industrial and Investment, Domestic Trade, Consumer Affairs and Cooperatives Committee chairman Datuk Dr Ku Rahman Ku Ismail said the menteri besar would chair the state executive council (exco) meeting to be held at the hospital tomorrow.
“Ahmad Bashah said he has recovered and is able to chair the exco meeting. I’m sure he has obtained doctor’s advice to be allowed to chair the meeting tomorrow,” he told reporters at a breaking of fast with community leaders at Sultanah Haminah Mosque, Tanjung Radin here, yesterday.
Wednesday is the day when the state exco meet for their weekly meeting.
Ku Rahman said the meeting would discuss normal matters.
Ahmad Bashah was previously treated at the Kedah Medical Centre (KMC) after he felt faint during a meeting of Kedah Barisan Nasional assemblymen at Grand Alora Hotel in Alor Star last June 4 and was transferred to Penang Hospital on June 6 where he underwent the surgery. – BERNAMA
