KUALA LUMPUR â€“ The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Muâ€™adzam Shah today awarded the Panglima Gagah Angkatan Tentera (PGAT) to Royal Malaysian Air Force chief General Datuk Seri Roslan Saad.
Roslan led the list of 205 award recipients in the first session of the 2014 Malaysian Armed Forces Warriors award ceremony at Istana Negara here.
The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah also graced the occasion.
Also present at the ceremony were Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zain, Army chief General Datuk Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, deputy Navy chief Vice Admiral Datuk Seri Panglima Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin and Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Ahmad.
Tuanku Abdul Halim also conferred the honourary PGAT to two foreign leaders, the Commander-in-Chief (Army) of Myanmar, Vice Senior General Soe Win and Royal Brunei Air Force commander, Brig Jeneral (U) Datuk Seri Panglima Wardi Abd Latip.
Meanwhile, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir received the honourary Pahlawan Angkatan Tentera award.
The ceremony involved 17 recipients of Pahlawan Setia Angkatan Tentera award, 19 recipients of Pahlawan Angkatan Tentera, 103 received the Kesatria Angkatan Tentera and 63 the Bentara Angkatan Tentera award. – BERNAMA
