The song’s lyrics was co-written by singer-songwriter Tobias Jess Jr and include the lines: “Let me photograph you in this light in case it is the last time that we might be exactly like were before we realised/We were sad and getting old it made us so restless?Oh, I’m so mad, I’m getting old it makes me reckless.” It sends chills down our spine!
Adele is getting up and ready for the release of 25, her first album since 2011’s 21, and recently spoke about another track called Send My Love (To Your New Lover), revealing it was inspired by the ex who broke her heart.
“This is my ‘f*** you song’ ,” she told The Observer’s music magazine.
“It sounds obvious, but I think you only learn to love again when you fall in love again.”
She says her love for long-term boyfriend Simon Konecki, the father of her son Angelo, is ‘deep’.
“I’m in that place,” she added. “My love is deep and true with my man, and that puts me in a position where I can finally reach out a hand to the ex. Let him know I’m over it.”
Adele’s much-anticipated album 25 is out on November 20.
