PETALING JAYA – Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa today took some time off from his busy schedule to compete in the VIP category of the bowling event in the maiden ASEAN Civil Service Games (ACSG) held in conjunction with the 27th ASEAN Summit.
In the competition held at Sunway Mega Lanes, Bandar Sunway here, Ali finished in eighth place after achieving 294 pinfalls overall in the two-game event.
He later gave away the prizes to the winners.
Also taking part were Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ibrahim Abdullah and Youth and Sports Ministry secretary-general Datuk Jamil Salleh.
The winner was Oscar Abuan from the Philippines who downed 376 pins overall while Malaysian Broadcasting Department Interactive Digital Engineering Division principal assistant director Putri Joliana Yaacob came in second after knocking down 350 pins.
Vietnam’s ACSG bowling squad coach Nguyen Van Hoang took third place with 342 pins.
