SERDANG – The UNESCO 2015 Asia-Pacific Conference on Education and Training (ACET) this August will be a platform for the Ministry of Education to promote its vocational and technical training (TVET) and educational capabilities at the global level.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the conference scheduled from August 3-5 would help realise the ministry’s strategy in Vocational Education Transformation Plan and the Education Development Plan Malaysia (Higher Education).
“The conference themed ‘Making Skills Development Work for the Future’ will involve more than 1,000 participants from 48 countries in the Asia Pacific region,” he said during the Education Ministry’s 2014 Excellence Service Award ceremony, here, today.
Muhyiddin who is also Education Minister, said the trust given to the ministry to spearhead such conferences was proof of the world’s acknowledgement on the country’s continued commitment and efforts in transforming the national education system.
At the ceremony, a total of 579 Education Ministry staff from the headquarters received awards for excellence demonstrated throughout 2014. – BERNAMA
