SHAH ALAM – UMNO Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim today made a police report to call for an investigation against the party which allegedly used his name over the construction of the undersea tunnel project in Penang.
Abdul Azeez said the report was made when he received a letter of demand from a legal firm representing a company on Feb 27 accusing him of abetting with an individual to obtain RM3 million from the project.
“I have received the letter of demand from the office of the lawyer representing Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd in which the content of the letter accused me as a swindler, a corrupt person capable of influencing police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on behalf of Zenith in the Penang undersea tunnel allegedly had been acquired by Zenith.
“In the letter, I was accused of receiving or abetting with a person named Datuk Abdul Jabarullah Kadersah to obtain RM3 million linked to project,” he told reporters after lodging the report at Shah Alam district police headquarters here today.
