BACHOK – Kelantan police chief Datuk Dr Ab Rahman Ismail, who died of health complications, including cardiac arrest yesterday, was buried at the Mukim Badak Muslim cemetery here today.
He died at 3.45 pm yesterday at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur.
The body arrived in a van at his house in Jelawat here at 3.30 am today and was taken to the Naim Mosque for the funeral prayer, which was also attended by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob and Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim.
Another funeral prayer was held at An-Nur Mosque in Mukim Badak before the body was buried at 9.30 am.
Ab Rahman is survived by wife, Datin Che Nat Hassan, and seven children.
Meanwhile, Noor Rashid, when met by reporters, described Ab Rahman as a person who was committed to his job, especially in efforts to address drug addiction and trafficking in Kelantan.
“He always gave priority to his job,” he added.
Ab Rahman was appointed as Kelantan Police Chief on July 18 last year replacing Datuk Mazlan Lazim.
Ab Rahman’s son, Ahmad Shahrizan Ab Rahman, 36, thanked all quarters who helped in bringing back his father’s body from Kuala Lumpur and also during the funeral. – BERNAMA
